Brief Bio
Fernando is currently editor of the Software Quality Journal (Springer) and has previously been associate editor of Software Quality Professional (American Society for Quality), Portuguese delegate to IFIP TC2 (Software: Theory and Practice), and member of the technical team of the MPS.BR process model, widely used in Brazil. He has been a regular reviewer for various international journals, conferences and workshops, as well as an evaluator of research projects. He has participated in the organization of national and international scientific events in various roles. He was also President of CS/03 (Sectoral Commission for Quality in Information and Communication Technologies) of the Portuguese Quality Institute, from 2000 to 2007, where he was one of the creators of the international QUATIC conference (https://www.quatic.org). In 2021, he was elected Chairman of the Scientific Steering Committee of the QUATIC conference series. He is Professor at Iscte-IUL and Senior Researcher at the ISTAR Research Unit at the same public university in Lisbon, Portugal.

SCOPE
This workshop explores the impact of generative AI on the quality of information systems, focusing on the challenges and opportunities it brings. As AI models like ChatGPT gain widespread adoption, their integration into information systems presents both potential benefits, such as improved decision-making and automation, and significant risks, including biases, technical complexity, and ethical concerns. The workshop will bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss frameworks for ensuring that generative AI enhances, rather than detracts from, the reliability, security, and ethical standards of information systems in various industries. Practical approaches to mitigating these challenges will also be a key focus.
