Brief Bio
Mansoor has completed my MS & PhD in Computer Science from Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria. Currently, I am working as a Research Fellow at ADAPT Centre / IVI, Maynooth University, and working on a funded research project in collaboration with META. Previously, Mansoor worked as a Marie / ELITE-S fellow at the ADAPT Centre/IVI, Maynooth University. Besides this, Mansoor is a member of standard bodies “ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 40 “, “NSAI/TC 2/SC 16 “ and the CEN standard on digital health innovation.

Brief Bio
Irfan is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action Fellow at the Department of Information Systems, University of Agder, Norway, and an EU researcher in the Department of Research, Innovation, and Development at Singular Logic, Greece. His research examines the ethical implications of regulations such as the GDPR and the AI Act on emerging technologies, including the metaverse, blockchain, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, he focuses on advanced data management, with an emphasis on data provenance, privacy, and the transformative potential of Semantic Web technologies, and has published extensively on secure data integration, knowledge graphs, and transparent data governance.

SCOPE
GOVTECH-ETHICS 2026 focuses on ethical frameworks, responsible innovation, and governance mechanisms for emerging technologies, including AI, blockchain, and decentralized systems. The workshop addresses the challenges of transparency, accountability, privacy, and regulatory alignment with frameworks such as the GDPR and the EU AI Act.
This workshop seeks interdisciplinary contributions integrating technical, legal, and ethical perspectives to develop practical models for trustworthy, human-centric, and socially beneficial digital systems. The goal is to advance responsible innovation practices and support the creation of governance structures that ensure technology serves societal values and public trust.
