The Doctoral Consortium on Enterprise Information Systems (DCEIS) will be held in conjunction with the 6th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS). This consortium is intended to bring together Doctoral Students within information systems field and give them opportunity to present and discuss the research in a constructive and international atmosphere.

The DCEIS 2004 will be accompanied by prominent professors in the field of information systems which will actively participate and contribute to the discussions. 

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The DCEIS 2004 aims at providing an opportunity for doctoral students to present their work to an audience of expert professors/researchers. The doctoral students will benefit from constructive critiques from the Doctoral Consortium Committee and the ICEIS participants, who will provide valuable feedback in order to guide their research.

SCOPE

The DCEIS deals with the topics of main conference, which are included in the following five areas:

- Databases and Information Systems Integration

- Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Systems

- Information Systems Analysis and Specification

- Software Agents and Internet Computing

- Human-Computer Interaction

DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM REQUIREMENTS AND RULES

The Doctoral Consortium is based on the following requirements and rules:

  • Doctoral Consortium is open only to Doctoral Students who have started their research ;

  • Each student with an accepted paper for the Doctoral Consortium must register to the DCEIS event;

  • All accepted papers will be published in the ICEIS proceedings.

  • Each paper must be orally presented by the Doctoral Student at the conference site; Each student is required to make a 20 minute presentation; there will be a discussion period after the presentation.

  • Submissions will be judged based on originality, significance and clarity. Admission is limited to 20 students.

  • Papers must be written in MS-Word or Latex and are restricted to 8 pages, including the following information:

    • stage of the research,

    • outline of objectives,

    • research problem,

    • state of the art,

    • methodology and

    • expected outcome.

HOW TO APPLY TO THE DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM

To apply for participation at Doctoral Consortium, please use the secretariat email (secretariat ( at ) iceis.org):

  • Cover page with your name, title of your thesis, institution, full postal address, phone number and e-mail address;

  • The paper (formatted as described in the previous section)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS WITH ACCEPTED PAPERS

The final camera-ready formating for DCEIS 2004 is the same used for ICEIS 2004 Conference (Conference Templates and Examples), but the number of pages for final camera ready article for DCEIS 2004 is limited to 8 (eight) pages, including title, abstract and bibliography.

Authors have to use the email to send the required information to the iceis secretariat secretariat ( at ) iceis.org before February 10, 2004.

The registration form will be online at the ICEIS Web site. Papers not registered before February 10, 2004 may not be published in the DCEIS proceedings.
