Background and Goals
Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) like ERP-, CRM- and SCM-systems
are pervasive in today’s organizations. EIS implementation projects
ask for major financial investments of organisations. They impact
many processes and employees of an organisation and require
significant organisational change. EIS are not only a pervasive
phenomenon from a financial point of view, but they also embed a
high level of complexity from a technical, an organisational and
from a business perspective. As a consequence many heterogeneous
managerial competences are required. This workshop addresses the
approaches, methods and techniques applied in order to analyse and
manage Enterprise Information System.
Submitted papers will undergo a thorough double peer review
process where they will be evaluated on the basis of significance,
originality, technical quality, and exposition. Papers should
clearly state the research contribution, and address relations to
previous research. Position and survey papers are also welcome.
Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to:
• governance of EIS
• project management
• human and organizational factors
• critical success factors (CSF) and critical failure factors (CFF)
• change management
• implementation characteristics in SMEs
• implementation scenarios
• risk analysis and management
• IT service specification
• ITIL applications
• service level agreements
• power and politics in EIS implementations
• maturity levels of EIS implementation
• EIS maintenance and post-implementation issues
• case studies on successful & failed implementations
• role of the IS function during implementation
• business process management
• methodological aspects of EIS research
• innovative approaches to EIS management
Submission of Papers
Prospective authors are invited to submit proposals for oral
presentation in any of the areas listed above. Submissions can be:
regular papers, work in progress by Ph.D. students, and experience
reports from practitioners. Please indicate clearly which of the
three categories of papers your submission belongs to. Instructions
for preparing the manuscript (in Word and Latex format) are
available at the ICEIS web site. Postscript/RTF versions of the
manuscript should be submitted thru ICEIS web-based paper submission
procedure. In addition, an email must be sent to all workshop chairs
including: title, authors' affiliation, and an abstract of the paper
submitted.
Format of the Workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to provide a stimulating event for
EIS researchers. The workshop will be organised as a combination of
invited talks, discussions and oral presentations of previously
submitted papers.
Workshop Proceedings
All accepted papers will be published in a workshop proceedings book
with an ISBN#, which will be printed by INSTICC Press. The
