Background and Goals
Wireless computing is an emerging field that promises new approaches
for developing information systems, which offer benefits related to
mobility, flexibility of distribution, and costs. This emerging
field poses new challenges to the research community such as faster
time-to-market, quality of wireless information, security concerns,
and others.
Following the success of the first WIS 2002 in Spain, and then WIS
2003 in France, WIS 2004 in Portugal, WIS 2005 in USA, and WIS 2006
in Cyprus, this workshop will serve as a forum for researchers and
practitioners to meet and share expertise in this emerging field.
The workshop will be held for two days with oral presentations,
discussions, and invited talks.
Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to:
• Mobile applications for enterprises and in terms of consumer
products
• Most recent mobile technologies like RFID and ad hoc networking
• Innovative wireless applications, protocols, and systems
• Location-based and context-aware services
• Pervasive and ambient computing concepts and applications
• Middleware and agents for wireless information systems
• Mobile commerce
• Wireless security and privacy
• Wireless information architectures
• Design techniques and tools for wireless information systems
• Databases for wireless information systems
• Data mining in wireless information systems
• Papers on related topics are also welcome
Submission of Papers
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in any of the areas
listed above. All papers must be written in English, and the length
of the paper should not exceed 5,000 words or 10 pages (including

online through the online submission systems.
