Brief Bio
Dr. Zhixiong Chen is a Professor and Program Director In Cybersecurity in the School of Liberal Arts at Mercy College, New York. He is also the president of Services Society, a non-profit professional organization promoting research and technical collaboration on Services Science among academia and industrial professionals. He has worked for over six years at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center and IBM Pittsburgh Research Lab, and over seven years at Mercy College.
Dr. Chen's research interests span Services Computing including Cloud Computing and Autonomic Computing, Information Assurance and Security, Risk Analysis, and Neuronal Wave Modeling. He has published more than 35 peer reviewed journal and conference papers, and served as program chairs, committee members in various IEEE conferences. He holds CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professionals), a senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM.
Dr. Chen gets his PhD in Mathematics and Master in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA and Master and Bachelor in Mathematics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China.
Background and Goals
Urbanization, globalization and cloud computing are pushing unprecedented changes in transportation industry and municipal governance. Scattered data from various types of sensors capturing real-time information about the status, location and condition of people, traffic, cargo, facilities and equipment are processed in a cloud to allow individual, business and government to make better, faster decisions and actions, optimize processes and anticipate and shape future outcomes. This analytics-driven approach has created huge challenging as well as many opportunities.The goal of this workshop is to foster research in the emerging area of cross enterprise collaboration. We invite researchers and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines to exchange ideas and collaboratively explore different aspects of this area.
Topics of interest
The special session's topics and preliminary research questions for which we encourage submissions include, but are not limited to:
› Metrics, sensors, and end-to-end probing and monitoring that support transportation situation aware
› Data collecting, processing and storing that cross various transportation domains from personal, businesses to government
› Models, methods, standards, and languages that control and coordinate cross-domain transportations
› Decision engines that can support data analytics to provide agility for adaptation and evolution
› Data Assurance and security that preserve security principles
› Data classification and data quality that leads to various decision algorithms
› IT, middleware, systems, tools, and framework that support cross domain transportations
› The role of people and other resources in transportation
› The role of municipality
› Cloud computing in transportation
› Dynamic Services Pricing to streamline transportation planning, implementation and tracking
› Use cases and examples of successful transportation collaboration
Publications
All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the proceedings book, under an ISBN reference and on CD-ROM support.All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/).
